Don & Bettina Bryant

Proprietor & President; Vice President

The founder of Bryant Family Vineyard, entrepreneur Donald L. Bryant, Jr.’s life as a vintner is marked by true passion and a drive for excellence. After acquiring the Pritchard Hill vineyard overlooking Lake Hennessey in the late 1980s and replanting it with 100% Cabernet Sauvignon using modern viticulture practices, the first vintage was released in 1992. Bryant’s prevailing goal is to celebrate the vineyard terroir while paying homage to the great wine making traditions of Bordeaux.

Bettina Bryant was named Vice President of the winery in 2009. A film producer, art curator and former American Ballet Theatre dancer, she has worked closely with the team to develop their new wine BETTINA, a proprietary blend hailing from three grand cru vineyards of David Abreu.

Todd Alexander

Winemaker

Winemaker Todd Alexander joined Bryant Family Vineyard in 2010 as Assistant Winemaker and received his promotion to Winemaker in October 2012.

His work ethic, talent, intelligence and dedication to the art of crafting fine wines from our estate on Pritchard Hill and Abreu vineyards have been evident since the beginning. Todd’s travel to wine regions worldwide and his academic background in viticulture and enology enhance his hands-on approach in both the vineyard and cellar. He has a passion for balanced and complete terroir-driven wines that reveal a sense of place and faithfully express the varietals from which they are derived. Todd possesses an unwavering attention to detail, a highly refined palate and a commitment to excellence resulting in the highest standards of quality. Believing in the spirit of collaboration, he works closely with our winemaking team, including consulting winemaker Michelle Edwards, consulting oenologist Michel Rolland and legendary vineyard manager David Abreu, to continue the tradition of crafting the best possible wines from our estate vineyard on Pritchard Hill as well as the Abreu vineyards that create our Bettina label.

When not in the vineyard or cellar, you may find Todd writing music, flying a plane or taking an art class at an atelier in San Francisco.
